Wallpaper Magazine
Ingmar Swalue shot a video for Wallpaper about Ryan Gander’s collaboration with G-Star. Gander added discreet white embroidery, like drips of paint, to 30 pairs of its classic Arc Loose Tapered jeans, as well as a little Japanese figurine on a keyring. The jeans will be distributed without fanfare and at random to G-Star stockists worldwide. The black & white video contains an interview with Gander as well as the embroidery process. Chester-born Ryan Gander is a conceptual artist whose sculpture, installations, photography and books are crammed with playful, inexplicable puzzles, cultural juxtapositions and multiple realities.

FASHIONWITHMONIQUE
For the first solo exhibition of fashion designer Monique van Heist FASHIONWITHMONIQUE Ingmar Swalue produced a large print of 4.00 x 8.50 metres. The image, a panorama, depicts the working space of Van Heist. The exhibition tells her story in several stages: in three large galleries we see her inspiration, the design process and her finished products. FASHIONWITHMONIQUE runs from 10 April – 24 October at the Zeeuws Museum in Middelburg.

Double Infinity
Double Infinity, a joint initiative by the Van Abbemuseum and Arthub Asia, opened April 29th at the Dutch Culture Centre in Shanghai, parallel to the World Expo 2010. Double Infinity is a collaborative encounter and comprises of an exhibition, a performance series, a lecture programme and a publication. It marks the first time that a European museum opens itself and its collection to the responses of artists living and working in China – responses that form a host of enriching, humorous and critical insights.
The publication, designed by Joost Grootens, seeks to map a world of crossovers and collisions between art and urban design starting from both Eindhoven and Shanghai. Through photographic essays Jiang Jun and Solar photographer Ingmar Swalue conceptually and aesthetically locate these strange but close sites for comparison.
